It is important to familiarize yourself with our system and current syllabus early. This class uses a different Learning Platform. The class will be held Mondays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm Central Time. While encouraged, class attendance is not mandatory, and recordings will be provided on our website.

SYLLABUS AND COURSE MATERIAL
Please note that our syllabus is regularly updated. It is important that all students read the full syllabus prior to the start of each new course.
- CG Scholar social learning platform: This is where you will review all course-specific content, including instructor videos, and complete the written work for our course.
- LDL Website: This is where we post the syllabus, communicate timelines, policies, synchronous session details, and other recurring information
- Join the relevant course community on CG Scholar as indicated above
- Review the syllabus linked from the LDL Course Resources webpage
LIVE CLASS SESSIONS
- Zoom: We use Zoom for our synchronous sessions, which is an online video conferencing platform.
- Links to our weekly Live Sessions and instructions on how to use Zoom can be found on the Course Details and Links page.
- Attendance: If you are unable to attend the live sessions, please watch the recordings and provide a link to your recorded presentation, based on the instructions about the video presentations on the website.

NEW LDL COURSE PARTICIPANTS
If you have not taken a course using CGScholar with Dr. Cope, Dr. Kalantzis, or Dr. Francis, please refer to the following:
- Create an account in CGScholar and join the course community before the first day of the term. You can use any email address when creating the account. Make sure to respond to the verification email.
After you have created your CGScholar account and joined the relevant course community (linked above) then go to the website here https://ldlprogram.web.illinois.edu/ldl-courses/ldl-courses-orientation-videos/ to learn how to work in CG Scholar .
- Watch the videos for a complete orientation of our LDL Courses and the CGScholar platform.
- Complete the LDL Courses and CGScholar Onboarding as stated above which includes a series of short videos to be completed in the order displayed
- Complete the Pre-Course Preparation Checklist
* If you are new to the platform, attend a bootcamp on Sunday October 15th from 3 to 4pm CT for a new LDL course participant onboarding session. A recording will be posted if you cannot attend. Regular Office Hours for questions will be 1 hour before class (5:30-6:30 pm) Mondays throughout the session.
