IMPORTANT DATES FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO DEFEND THIS SPRING:
· April 6, 2025: Last day to add yourself to the May 2025 degree list
· April 11, 2025: Last Day to take final exam for May Degree
· DATE COMING SOON: Deadline for department format check – If you are ready for department format check, please contact Jena Pfoff at jrooseve@illinois.edu.
· May 2, 2025: Last day to complete deposit of May doctoral dissertations
· May 17, 2025: May degree conferral date

MAY 2025 CONVOCATION CEREMONY INFORMATION:
The College of Education hosts one convocation ceremony each May for August, December, and May graduates. All online EdD, EdM, and CERT graduates are invited to participate. Details about the May 2025 College of Education Convocation Ceremony can be found here: https://education.illinois.edu/convocation.
*** After the convocation ceremony, there is a Post Ceremony Celebration – Join your fellow graduates, family, friends, and College of Education faculty and staff at the Education Building (1310 S. Sixth Street) after Convocation! The reception will have photo opportunities, cookies and water, and gifts for the graduates.
Exam-Dissertation Sequence Forms
Registration for the EDS seminars and requests for examination all require a form. Refer to the list below on which forms are needed and when, but most of the actual form links can be found on the Graduate Student Forms page, including the Independent Study contract, for situations where this registration option is needed. Prior to beginning the EDS, please create your EDS Plan and Progress Report form.

Enrollment Verification, Certificate Request, and Graduation Forms
- You can apply for graduation using Self Service. Once you arrive go to the graduation tab where you will find guided instructions and the necessary graduation application.
- If you miss the deadline to apply for graduation through Student Self-Service, you will need to fill out two forms. Complete and submit both the ‘Graduate Student Request Form (Petition)‘ to request a late add to the upcoming Degree List and the ‘Add/Remove from Degree List‘ form.
